Sexual Disorders (Part 2)
Connected to Part 1, here we will talk more about common sexual disorders in males and females:
Anorgasmia in Males
The lack of intense pleasure during ejaculation is known as Anorgasmia, often linked to delayed ejaculation in men. This sexual dysfunction may be classified as a psychiatric disorder. It can result from medical issues such as diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, multiple sclerosis, trauma, or spinal cord injury. Treatment varies based on the cause, requiring evaluation by a urologist for proper management and possible referral to a psychologist or endocrinologist.
Anorgasmia in Females
Anorgasmia is when a woman is unable to reach orgasm despite being sexually aroused. Causes include hormonal changes, male partner incompetence, fear of sex, stressful living conditions, and medical issues like diabetes or pelvic trauma. Treatment is possible through education on proper sexual practices, as anorgasmia is more psychological than medical in nature.
Adequate foreplay, including oral sex and clitoral stimulation, is important before intercourse. Educating the woman to overcome inhibitions about sex and encouraging her to be stress-free for a positive sexual experience. Healthy sexual relations with a partner can be more effective than medicine in treating certain conditions.
Hyper sexuality
Hyper sexuality is characterized by a compulsive approach to sex, rather than the frequency of sexual activity. Those affected engage in sex repeatedly without emotional fulfillment, driven by an insatiable desire. This behavior disrupts daily life and can lead to a cycle of compulsive actions.
Dyspareunia
Dyspareunia can affect both men and women. For men, common causes include prostate or bladder infections, as well as tight foreskin leading to pain during erection. Women may experience vaginal dryness, irritation from certain medications, or infections. If left untreated, Dyspareunia can lead to sexual issues such as erectile dysfunction in men and vaginismus in women. Addressing underlying physical factors is crucial to prevent these complications.
Sexual Cephalgia
Sexual cephalgia is severe headaches during sex caused by muscle and blood vessel contractions in the head, neck, or upper body. Symptoms come and go periodically, with weeks or months in between episodes.
